CHARGE CONTROL & LOW VOLTAGE DISCONNECT USER MANUAL - MODEL 12/24 - 15A The Nemo Solar Model 12/24 - 15A is a 15 ampere solar charge control (CC) and Low Voltage Disconnect (LVD) switch which can handle 15 amps of solar current, battery current, and load current. The solar module, battery, and load circuits are individually protected with 3 designated 15 amp ATC (blade) type fuses. This CC/LVD unit can be used in both 12 volt and 24 volt systems, automatically changing to 24 volt mode only if battery voltage is above 17 volts. Data below is for 12 volts. Double the figures for 24 volts. There are 4 indicator lamps (LED), which show the following: status of solar module, battery full charged, battery discharged, and load on. The YELLOW LED lamp in the SUN SYMBOL indicates that there is voltage from the panels. It will not light after dark, or if polarity of the panel is wrong, or if fuse is defective. The GREEN LED lamp in the BATTERY SYMBOL lights or flashes if the battery is fully charged. The CC then disconnects the solar current and pulse charges the battery to maintain about 13.8 volts. The RED LED lamp in the BATTERY SYMBOL lights at about 10.5 volts, and will stop lighting when the battery voltage reaches about 11.8 volts. When the RED LED lights, it disconnects the load from the battery to protect the load from under-voltage and to protect the battery from excessively deep discharging. The GREEN LED lamp in the LAMP SYMBOL lights when there is voltage to the load. RECOMMENDED INSTALLATION NOTES: Install Control within 6' of battery, use marine grade (tinned) 10 gauge stranded copper wire, and properly tighten all connections. To avoid voltage losses to load, use properly sized wires and install as close to the Control as is practical. Protect controller from direct sun and rain. Notes on Using the NemoSolar CC/LVD with a Nemo Pump: If pump is powered by a solar charged battery, connect the pump to the LVD (LOAD) terminals of the CC/LVD.
