LVD - 12 Volt or 24 Volt Low Voltage Disconnect Switches:

An LVD (Low Voltage Disconnect) switch protects your battery from over-discharge and can protect loads from running at voltages below rated input levels. The LVD will constantly monitor your battery and disconnect the attached DC load(s) if voltage drops below an unsafe level. Also, in applications where loads (such as pumps) are connected directly to solar modules, the LVD can be wired directly to a solar module to switch the load on and off relative to the voltage output level of the solar module. Epoxy encapsulated and ready for marine or tropical environments, these LVD switches also have a  low voltage signal output that can be used to switch on a light or buzzer to notify you of the low voltage condition.

DIRECT SOLAR WIRING NOTE: To use a dedicated Low Voltage Disconnect (LVD) to control a pump that is directly connected to a solar module (no battery), connect both the red and yellow wires of the LVD to the positive lead of the solar module and the black wire of the LVD to negative lead of the solar module. Then connect the white wire of the LVD to the  positive wire lead of the pump and connect the negative wire lead of the pump to the negative lead of the solar module. With this wiring set up the LVD will automatically control the pump by turning it on and off relative to the intensity of the sunlight to which the solar module is exposed.
