The Flexcharge Night Watchman is a 12 Volt DC photoswitch. Rated at 10 amps, it will automatically turn a light or other load on at dusk and off at dawn.

The Night Watchman is designed to be mounted anywhere, inside or outside, including in marine salt air environments. It is completely waterproof, very small (1" x 1" x 1") for mounting in an inconspicuous location, and built for total reliability (sailors worldwide depend on the Night Watchman as a failsafe control of crutial navigation and anchor lights).

Because power consumption is always a concern on battery powered systems (off-grid solar, boats, RVs, etc.), the Night Watchman is designed to use an extremely small amount of power in standby mode (only 0.00015A or 0.15mA), yet it is capable of supplying up to 10A of load current.

The Night Watchman will turn any 12V load ON in the evening within a half hour of sunset, and OFF in the morning within a half hour of sun rise. And it's advanced circuitry is designed to prevent flickering when used to control 12V fluorescent lamps. It can also be used to control small water pumps directly or larger pumps via a relay.
